How to Grill Pizza

If you can’t have brick oven pizza,

grilled pizza is the next best thing (IMO). Now I don’t want to assume anything, but I think it’s safe to say that it’s more likely for people to have a grill than a brick oven. And in 2020, it’s more likely that you’re making your own pizza than you are going out for it. In other words, there’s never been a better time to learn how to make grilled pizza. I promise it’s much easier than it sounds (I even made a video, below, so you can see just how easy it is) and the results taste insanely delicious! It’s truly a great way to cook pizza year-round, no matter the season, no matter the toppings. I should warn you, though, once you go grilled, you never go back…

WHAT YOU NEED

WHAT TO DO

  1. Place pizza stone on the grill. Then close the grill lid, turn on the grill and preheat to 425 ºF.

  2. While the grill and stone are heating, prep your pizza. Lightly dust the pizza peel with flour. Then spread out your dough on the peel and top with desired sauce, seasonings + toppings.

  3. Transfer the pizza from the peel to the pre-heated pizza stone and close the grill cover.

  4. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust looks golden. Pro tip- you can test if the crust is done by tapping it. If it sounds hollow, you know it’s ready.

  5. Remove the pizza from the stone with the pizza peel or a spatula. Let rest for a minute, then slice, serve and enjoy!
