Happy Hour No. 171

A note I shared on my Instagram about a special initiative we’ve added to the menu of the live happy hours we’re hosting every wednesday; We hope you’ll not only join us for a drink but also join us in giving back!

A challenge //

There are a lot of challenges going around on here, so, in conjunction with our weekly live #RChappyhour, we figured we’d try one of our own-see a drink, send a donation or see a drink, create awareness.

Because happy hour is all about connecting + community, and we want to have a bigger impact on ours than just raising a glass...So, for every one who joins our weekly live #RChappyhour on Wednesdays, OR, shares a story or post with a cocktail or mocktail {our recipe or yours} that you’re drinking, we’ll be donating a $1 to an organization that is helping during this time, up to $100 per week {just be sure tag us and use #RChappyhour so we can see your posts to count for the donation}. We’ll pick a new organization every week to announce during HH {feel free to nominate organizations, as well} and any posts shared until the next HH, the following week, will count towards the week’s donation.

While Dave and I were already planning to donate and help how we can, we thought why not get the RC community involved? Instead of spending money on some giveaways for y’all, why not donate that money in the name of this community? And why not use the community to raise awareness for those helping during this time? Because even if you are unable to donate yourselves, you can at least join us in raising a glass {because I know we’re all drinking more than ever before 😂😂} to awareness!

And speaking of communities, we know restaurants are a big part of all of ours, which is why we chose @rwcfusa, a group benefitting restaurant workers, as this week’s #RChappyhour organization. I don’t know about you, but eating out is one of the many things I will never take for granted ever again. The buzz of a packed space, the dishes and chefs that inspire me in my own kitchen, the places that give me a taste of their local cuisine while I’m abroad and the neighborhood spots I rely on at home, and the meals we share with strangers and friends alike, while we speak a language we all understand, the language of food...While we’d love to have you join us for a meal at a restaurant, for the time being, we hope you’ll join us for a drink and helping however you can instead 🤍🤍🤍
