Finding a florist for our wedding would have appeared to be an easy task in a city like New York (I mean we have a, albeit dying, flower distract, right?!). But no one seemed to be able to get my vision…until I met Denise Porcaro, aka Flower Girl. When I walked into her magical space, it was as if I had stepped into a real life flower fairy kingdom (appropriate since I was slightly obsessed with these flower fairies as a child.) Gorgeous blooms, shelves lined with vintage tins, mercury glass galore, oh and did I mention Denise was sweet as pie?! I instantly knew that all my wedding flower wishes would come true (my bouquet is proof they did). Denise was kind enough to let me snap some photos of her enchanting space located on LES and share them with all of you. And because it wouldn’t be Runway Chef without a little food or fashion included, I had to ask Denise about her favorite food (artichokes..yum!) and favorite piece of clothing (well-worn and well-loved vintage cut-offs from the 70’s handed down by her Mom).
Pop into the Flower Girl shop at 245 Eldridge St. between Houston and Stanton (maybe even take one of her flower arranging classes) and don’t forget to find Flower Girl on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Again, a huge thank you to Denise for letting me snap these photos of Flower Girl!
