Did someone say Cinco de Mayo? Because I only heard margaritas and churros. It’s true. When people ask how I like to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I proudly respond “With a churro in one hand and a margarita in the other!”. That’s probably not something to be proud of, but c’est le vie (Yes, I realize a Spanish saying here would most definitely be more appropriate. Unfortunately, French, Latin and Italian are the only other languages I’ve attempted to learn/was forced to learn as a child, so a French saying is what you’re getting.). While my Cinco de Mayo celebrating habits may not be something that would make my Mom proud (Sorry, Mom!), this churro recipe with a chili chocolate tequila-infused dipping sauce will definitely make anyone proud. They’re so good, you’ll want to inhale them like air (the jury’s still out on if this is something to be proud of or not…I’m leaning towards yes, but, I’m a foodie. What else can I say?!).
