The $18 Dress You Need for Fall

The $18 Dress You Need for Fall

It's not often that an investment piece is also a steal, and rarer still is it to find such an item on a quick and spontaneous jaunt to the H&M around the corner from your hotel. And yet, here I am in a an $18 winner of a dress ($10 in stores) to prove otherwise.

While we brought the majority of our clothes with us on our cross-country car ride, somehow I failed to bring very many dresses (or, at least dresses that sufficed in the southern heat). So, what's a girl to do? Shop, naturally.

I've slowly been trying to do my best to switch away from fast fashion, but when you need something fast, you gotta do what you gotta do. With limited time on each stop, shopping was really the last thing I wanted to do, unless, of course, it was for vintage treasures or scoping out local boutiques. But I knew I could rely on something like an H&M for a quick fix, which I happened to need more than once during our trip.

I was skeptical of what I'd find in the store around the corner from where we were staying in Charleston. But, there, buried deep in the depths of the H&M sale rack I found it, a gem of dress. At first glance, I was concerned about the print and material, but for $10, I figured I'd be stupid to not even try it on. Good thing I'm not stupid (at least 80% of the time), because this dress could not be more of a winner. It's super light and comfortable, it's flowy and forgiving (Ummm, perfect Thanksgiving outfit anyone?!), and the neutral color palette makes it an ideal fall floral dress with a side of serious Gatsby vibes. It's great for grabbing cocktails, dressing up for date night (These $15 earrings were made for this dress!) or even styling it more casually (with sandals and a denim jacket) for something like an afternoon baby or bridal shower. And, I mean, did I mention the price tag??! My only regret is not grabbing it in red, too (Yeah, it comes in another color!)

How do y'all feel about fall floral dresses? Yay or nay? Either way, it's pretty hard to say no to anything under $20!
