When it comes to the Super Bowl, I’m pretty consistent with who I want to win.
Team food. All the way. Always and forever.
I mean, honestly, is there any other team worth cheering for?! I don’t think I’m alone when I say “No, no there is not.” (Or at least I hope I’m not alone).
As for the specifics, I’m not overly picky. And, tbh, there are so many yummy options, sometimes it’s near impossible to narrow it down to my absolute favorites. However, a few non-negotiables for me are always wings (Boneless, not too spicy, served with a side of ranch, please and thank you!), a dip of some sort (Hello, easy sour cream + onion dip recipe I’m sharing below!) and most definitely bold, flavorful chips. I’ve been a fan of popchips for years. They’re crunchy, delicious + perfect for snacking all on their own, but they also make an excellent vessel for dips (especially with those ridges). And have y’all tried popchips ridges flavors?! OMGsogood! They come in buffalo ranch (which tastes exactly like you’re eating wings, just a little less messy), tangy barbecue (slightly sweet with a zesty kick) and cheddar & sour cream (super cheesy and creamy tasting), and I 100% can not choose a favorite because they are all just so darn delicious. Outside of them tasting so good, they’re also way better for you than regular chips. For starters, they’re baked. They’re also gluten-free, some flavors are non-GMO, they’re made without anything artificial, they don’t contain trans fats, cholesterol or preseveratives. Oh, and did I mention they’re 130 calories or less per serving?! So here for all of it.
Even though these chips are wonderful all on their own, it is the Super Bowl after all, so let’s indulge our chips in a dip, shall we? This sour cream + onion dip is honestly the easiest dip you’ll ever make. It only has 5 ingredients, it takes less than 5 minutes to make and it’s a total crowd pleaser. Oh, and did I mention it pairs perfectly with popchips?! You can find the easy dip recipe below, and you can currently find popchips in their bold & crunchy ridges packaging (that recently got a little refresh to make it even bolder) at your local grocery store or at amazon.com/popchips (Chips delivered to your door? Uh, yes please!).
Happy snacking + Super Bowl watching!
sour cream + Onion Dip
yields 1 1/4 cups
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons finely diced onions
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
Generous pinch of salt
3 tablespoons of finely chopped herbs of your choice (I like to use either parsley, dill or basil)
Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until combine. The dip can either be served right away or it can be made ahead, stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and used within 3 days.
