Living in LA has lots of benefits.
Being able to shoot cold-weather content easily is not one of them. So, what’s a girl to do, but hop on a plane to Switzerland?! I’m kidding, I’m kidding. If I really wanted winter outfits taken in a winter setting, Big Bear, Mammoth, Lake Tahoe, among other places, are all mere hours away. We just happened to be going to Switzerland so shooting some winter outfits there was a no-brainer for this so-cal girl.
While skiing in the Alps is high on my bucket list, we were in Zermatt for such a short time that we knew we, sadly, wouldn’t have time to hit the slopes. But don’t you dare think that kept us from hitting up après ski. I mean, tbh, that’s 67% of the reason why I even ski in the first place. “Hi bartender. I’ll have an après ski, hold the ski.” Yeah, I’m good with that sitch. And if you’re wondering what any of this has to do with anything, well, it’s really just to let you know that this outfit here is the outfit I wore to NOT go skiing but to go drinking instead. The Mr. dubbed it my “Alpine Glam” outfit. I dubbed it my “i’m-an-idiot-for-trying-to-look-cute-when-its-single-digits-out” outfit. Honestly, I was freezing. The whole time. Nothing was warm. And I even had on a whole two other long-underwear layers underneath that sweater. And the hot wine helped for all of .2576658 seconds. Oh, and if you’re wondering if I looked out of place at the après ski spot? Yes, yes I did. Because apparently when people go to a ski town in the alps, they actually go skiing there. Crazy concept, I know. Leave it to the silly Americans to only go for the drinks and the views…
P.S. I’ll be sure to share all the details of where we went for Après ski in my guide to Zermatt coming later this week.
