You’ll notice my face isn’t really showing in any of these outfits. Because let’s be honest, who really wants to show Monday their face?! Also because I feel like Carmen Sandiego in this outfit so me not showing my face is me trying to stay in character aka act like a mysterious detective hard at work (in other words, I’m not wearing much makeup). Good thing you come here to look at my outfits and not my face!
In other news involving the color red- if you’re hunting down the best deals/steals/markdowns for Cyber Monday, this should help you out!
And for news completely unrelated to the color red, detectives, or mysterious faces- the winner of the Lola Minx LBD giveaway was announced. Was it you?!

I’ve never met a metal I haven’t liked- gold, silver, copper, bronze…actually, I take that back. I don’t like the screaming, ear-splitting musical variety. But any other metal, I will take it. And if you’ve been reading this blog for a while now, chances are, you know that. Chances are also pretty good that if something isn’t the color of gold or silver, I will find a way to make it that color aka I should buy stock in gold and silver spray paint.
While I’ve really been trying to branch into a more colorfully accessorized world, there is nothing I love more than piling on the metals. And when you’ve got a pair of killer heels, a rocker vest, ripped jeans, a black-gold tank and a high ponytail, there truly is no better way to complete your edgy look than with loads of gold baubles.

Happy Monday everyone! This week I will be back in full swing (aka new posts will be going live everyday AND yes, I will finally be responding to/catching up on e-mails, texts, Tweets, morse code signals, messages from outer space and any other form of communication I received). It’s been a long past few weeks and I’ve been all over the place emotionally and physically and had pretty much checked out of any sort of schedule, regular tasks, and even keeping up with the blog and social media. While it was somewhat nice not having to worry about editorial schedules, coming up with new material and scheduling tweets in Hootsuite, I would be lying if I didn’t say I missed blogging! So a big, big thank you to all of you for sticking with me during this rough patch and still reading my little ol’ blog.
As I mentioned, Mr. RC and I escaped to Maine last week to get a breather and regroup. And we did just that (I’ll be giving a recap of some of the highlights later this week). Part of a relaxing vacation, is making sure you have easy-going, low maine-tenance (get it??! Haha) outfits. Maxis, light weight dresses, and simple shorts and blouses are always my go-to options, usually skipping jewelry in favor of low-maintenance accessories, like aviators, a good fedora, and colorful sandals. Of course, being on the Northeast coastline, I felt my (what I thought was buried in the past) preppy side making an appearance (Hi there seer sucker shorts!). I’d love to know, what are some of your easy breezy vacation pieces?

While black and white is (and always will be) a favorite of mine I am a) beyond ready for color, b) longing for sandals & no-jacket-required outfits and c) sounding like a hypocrite, the latter of which, the weather is, of course, entirely to blame for. There are only so many ways to style a winter coat and only so many pictures I can take sans jacket (freezing while taking pictures isn’t exactly a skill I possess, who would have thought), so black and white we meet again. But spring, my blue shoes and I are ready and waiting for you. Like yesterday….

Can we talk about my faux leather pants obsession right now?? Because I am indeed obsessed with these beauties. I literally wear them all the time! Except for the gym because that would be really hot and sweaty (although it could be a good way to sweat off that Easter candy?!). Oh and to bed, because well, leather pjs is just awkward.
I also love being able to show off pieces, such as the fur stole, that have spent the last several months hibernating under heavy jackets. And while I am more then ready for spring’s warmth, I’ve got to admit, I just love this in-between weather. It says “show a touch of skin” not “bikini body ready”. Which is good…..because after all that Easter candy, I am far from bikini body ready. Better get to the gym in my leather skinnies!
