I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Millennial Central for Figleaves.com. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Since spring has apparently decided to just skip right over us (it’s fine spring, I didn’t like you either), I’ve been focusing all my energy on preparing for summer. While many take that to mean ramping up their workouts and scaling back on their food, I take it to mean stocking up the beach bag and finding some cute new swimsuits.
Once upon a time, not so long ago, I would actually dread summer purely because swimsuit shopping was the bane of my existance. I’ve mentioned on here before that I’ve been well-blessed (or cursed, in my opinion) in the chest department. This makes most clothes shopping rather difficult and it makes bathing suit shopping near impossible. Running to a store and grabbing a $20 bikini has never been an option for me. The bottoms would fit, no problem. But the tops? That was a different story, one which left me with about 20 different bottoms and only one top to wear with them all. Then, a couple years ago, a miracle happened. I discovered swimsuits made with bra sizes…and just like that summer and I became best friends again. So where do I buy these little miracle bra swimsuits? I’ll never tell 😉 Just kidding! I’ll tell, but only if you promise to leave a few swimsuits for me, k? K! The store is online retailer Figleaves.com. They carry everything from AA-GG cup size and styles from a one-piece to bikini to tankini as well as over 200 designers in their swimwear, sleepwear, lingerie, and apparel departments. Translation? There is something for every body. I decided to kick-off my summer preparation by ordering a classic black bikini (top here, bottom here). Thanks to the bra sizing it fits like a glove and I couldn’t be happier to wear my new bikini to the beach (something I never thought I would say).
After getting my new swimsuit, I realized I needed to do a little bit of summertime prep in other departments, namely stocking up my beach bag. Not much has changed from this list. I still like to make sure I have a healthy snack, some sunscreen, deodorant, a tinted lip balm, and a cute beach bag (from here). This year I’ve also added lotion, sunnies, a hat and a pretty scarf to the mix (to be used as either a hair wrap, a shawl, or a cover-up).
P.S. If your prep includes buying a new swimsuit, Figleaves is offering 10% off full priced items from now until June 15th using code LOVE2014.
