Blueberry Pie

As I try to hang on to the last little bits of summer (that didn’t feel like summer thanks to this little thing called wedding planning) I find myself reminiscing about all the things that remind me of the warmer months.

One thing I always think of in particular is blueberry pie.

It has long been a summer staple in our family, made with berries picked fresh in the backyard, coated with a delicious buttery crumb topping and served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.

My Mom and I carried on the tradition by whipping up these pies last time I was at my Grandmother’s (see here, here, and here).

It turned out as good and delicious as always. Unfortunately, however, no one in my family likes to follow recipes, so while I don’t have exactly what we made, this one looks similar (with maybe an added touch of cinnamon and nutmeg).

P.S. Unfortunately my family also doesn’t understand the whole food styling thing so blue paper plates was the best I could do.
